Game 3 – AIS 48 v Territory Storm 42

A technically superior AIS team has delivered the third defeat for the Storm this weekend.

Game Report:
Strong opening quarter from the home team gave the vocal local crowd something to cheer about keeping the AIS to only 2 goals up. 21-23 in the opening quarter.

The stunned AIS players took the court in the second quarter with no changes to either team. Some slick attacking from Storm attacking duo Amelia Hills and Liz McCouaig kept Storm in the game all through the second quarter. Late in the second quarter a serious injury to Storm Vice Captain Nardia MacDonald unsettled the home side with 3 unforced errors. AIS defenders kept applying pressure ensuring our shooters had to shoot from out wide.

Amazing intercepts from Chanel Gomes supplied plenty of ball to her attackers who finished nicely under the post. It was a tightly contested third quarter.

A lot of whistle down the Storm defence end meant the storm struggled to find flow out of the backline which affected the attacking line. It was a strong contest for every ball right up until- the last whistle but it was AIS that were technically sound punishing the Storm with the final score 48-42.
