Territory Storm – Round 2

Territory Storm recorded 1 win from 3 matches this weekend in round 2 of the New Idea Australian Netball League at AIS Arena in Canberra.

In their first match the Storm were too strong for the Canberra Darters recording a 57-42 point win. Storm led from the first whistle with an 8 point buffer going into the first break. The Darters began to close in middle quarters but the Storm were able to regroup as Canberra’s rising star U21 ACT goal shooter Josipa Pivac’s shooting wavered.

Territory Storm Captain Katherine Hollis was understandably pleased by her side’s strong performance away from home.
“I think we were really good tonight, really solid even though we were a bit slow off the blocks to start the second period which let Canberra back into it,” Hollis said.
“It was great how we finished things off in the final quarter, obviously we’ve still got some things to work on but overall it was very positive.”

The Storm were unable to back up their winning form on Saturday going down to NSW Waratahs by 14 goals (match report) but kept themselves in contention until the final whistle against the Blues, being defeated by just 2 goals. (match report)
